Food for Life Unveils New Chiller

Food for Life has added another crucial element in our goal to have the most safe, efficient and integrated process for distributing fresh food to help feed the hungry in Halton Region. Food for Life has added a state-of-the-art, 800 square foot, walk-in modular refrigerated chiller to our warehouse in Burlington.

The new chiller was generously supported by: The Ontario Trillium Foundation, Pioneer Energy, Burlington Community Foundation and The May Court Club of Oakville. We thank these organizations for their support.
We also celebrated the leading food donors to Food for Life. The inaugural “Golden Apple” Awards were presented to the 12 corporate food donors that have donated in excess of 10,000 pounds in the last year to Food for Life (Sobeys, Ippolito, Bayshore Vegetable Shippers, Fearman’s Pork, Gordon Food Service, Sodexo, Cobs Bread, Whole Foods, Goodness Me, Longos, Costco, Wallace and Carey). Food for Life delivers the donated product to over 21,000 people per month every year in Halton Region.
