The Big Sort Fall Edition

The BIG SORT Fall 2019 is scheduled for October 25th and you don’t want to miss out on the best event of the fall!

Help ensure that individuals and families struggling with hunger have the food they need with this fast-paced, team building event.

The Big Sort is a fun and competitive food sorting event whose purpose is to raise funds and fresh food to support people struggling with hunger. You can help ensure the more than 12,721 people supported each week by the work of Food for Life have access to safe, nutritious food.

Every dollar raised provides the equivalent of 4 meals to an individual in need.

The Big Sort Spring Edition

Date: April 13, 2019

The Big Sort Spring Edition

April 13th, 2019, 8 teams went head to head in this fast-paced competitive event themed in the style of March Madness/Final Four. The energetic teams sorted large bins of food into smaller boxes, perfect for our Food for Life neighbourhood program sites and sharing with our partner agencies.

Together these dedicated hunger champions were able to provide 10,000 meals for our neighbours in need.

Food for Life’s Annual Turkey Drive 2018 was another great success! With amazing community support, we were able to collect 1900 turkeys for families in need.

October 25, 2018, 10 teams went head to head in this fast-paced competitive event themed in the style of March Madness/Final Four. The energetic teams sorted large bins of food into smaller boxes that are perfect for our Food for Life neighbourhood program sites and sharing with our partner agencies. Together these dedicated hunger champions were able to provide 28,570 meals for our neighbours in need.

 

 

The Coldest Night of The Year

The Coldest Night of The Year

Glen Abbey Community Centre, Oakville

The Coldest Night of the Year was a fun family-friendly 2, 5, or 10 km walk that raised money and awareness for the hungry, homeless and hurting. This was an opportunity to get involved in your community and support Food For Life and those who are struggling to find their next meal in winter ’18.
